Outdoor Unit Details

The Goodman SSZ16 16 SEER Air Conditioner uses the environmentally friendly refrigerant R-410A and features energy efficiencies and operating sound levels that are among the best in the heating and cooling industry. R-410A is chlorine-free to help prevent damage to the ozone layer.

In order to achieve a 16 SEER rating, the unit must be matched with a variable speed air handler and with a TXV-Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV). A 16 SEER system will save approximately 7%-8% more than a 15 SEER system.

Indoor Unit Details

The Goodman® AEPF Multi-Position, Variable-Speed Air Handler's blower design includes a variable-speed DC motor that allows for a soft start and stop for quieter, more efficient operation and eliminates the cold blast of air upon heating start-up. Using an ECM™ motor, the AEPF is ideal for new or retrofit applications. This air handler is shipped with the correct orifice (Flowrater) for this listed match. Instead of a Flowrater a Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) can be used.
